OBJECTIVES OF THE AGENCY

The Larnaca District Development Agency has been founded by the self-governmental organizations of the district of Larnaca for their cause. The main objective of the Agency is the rendering of services to its shareholders regarding the exploitation of E.U. funds and the implementation of their aims and visions, through their participation in E.U. funded programmes.

The Agency aims at covering the following needs:
- Providing information about issues concerning the E.U.
- Providing support to the self-governmental organizations of the district of Larnaca regarding their developmental role and plans
- Developmental planning of the broader area of the district of Larnaca
- Maximum exploitation of the available Structural, National and European Funds, through the participation of the shareholders and the management of programmes.
- Providing technical support to the citizens and to other organizations of the district of Larnaca in the fields of education and training, improvement of the quality of living and, in general, the socioeconomic development.
- Engagement of initiatives regarding the protection of the environment and conservation of the cultural heritage
- Development of the relationship of the shareholders with other member-states’ self-governmental organizations
- Promotion of the maximum possible cooperation between the self-governmental organizations of the district of Larnaca and other Public, semi-Public and Private Bodies

More specifically, the supporting services that the Agency provides are addressed to the following target-groups of the district of Larnaca:
- Municipalities and Communities
- Farmers and cattle-breeders
- Professionals and Businessmen
- Hoteliers and Industrialists
- Citizens
- Organizations and Associations
- Unions and other groups
- Communal Councils of Volunteerism
- Vulnerable groups of the population

The Larnaca District Development Agency is acting cooperatively and supportively to the Public and Private sector. It functions rationally combing social contribution, business activity and management of the high standards of the demands of the sustainable development through transparency and efficiency.

The ulterior objective is the achievement and maintenance of a modern, strong, powerful, skilled and self-reliant Agency which is based on:
- the innovative and pioneer approach of its actions
- the enforcement of its human resource and the continuous training of the staff
- the creation of a modern working environment which uses the right equipment of modern technology
- the pursuing of a healthy cooperation in daily contacts with citizens and the engagement of initiatives which push forward to the social values
- the development of an own quality of functioning through the appropriate application of methodologies of the modern organization and administration
