RURAL
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
The
Department of Rural Development is responsible for providing consulting
services to farmers, businessmen and to all other citizens of
the district of Larnaca. It also participates and supports the
participation of the Agency’s shareholders in funded programmes
that aim at the agricultural development.
The
main objective of the Department is the provision of information
to the shareholders of the Agency and to the citizens regarding
any matter that deals with rural and entrepreneurship development.
More
specifically, the Department of Rural Development is responsible
for the following activities:
- Promotion of innovative actions and transmission of best practices
from other member-states of the E.U. aiming at the rural development
of the district of Larnaca.
- Promotion of the “Programme for the Rural Development 2007-2013”
of the Republic of Cyprus and provision of consulting services
to the shareholders of the Agency, organizations and citizens
of the district of Larnaca, in order to make good use of the Programme.
- Provision of supporting services to the shareholders of the
Agency and to the citizens of the district of Larnaca regarding
the entrepreneurship development.
- Provision of supporting services to the shareholders of the
Agency and to the citizens of the district of Larnaca regarding
Renewable Energy Sources.
- Elaboration of feasibility studies for the shareholders of the
Agency and for businesses
- Provision of consulting services and guidance to farmers, for
their participation in funding programmes.
- Provision of information to the public about the Calls for Proposals
of the Republic of Cyprus and the E.U. that deal with rural development.
- Cooperation with governmental departments and services.
