PROGRAMMES DEPARTMENT
The
E.U. Programmes Department is responsible for the direct networking
and communication of the Agency with the E.U. Institutions and
Directorate Generals. Furthermore, it is responsible for the networking
of the Agency with other Member-states’ Regional Authorities,
organizations or operators. The Department has a permanent representative
in Brussels who transmits useful information directly from the
“heart” of the European Union. Having this information on time,
the Agency is able to follow the rapid developments in the framework
of the European Union.
The
E.U. Programme Department aims at the absorption of funds coming
from E.U. funded programmes, for the achievement of the sustainable
development of the district of Larnaca.
More
specifically, the E.U. Programmes Department is responsible for:
- Involving the Agency and its shareholders in the procedures
of the Calls for proposals for E.U. funded programmes. The final
objective is the approval of project proposals that either the
Agency or its shareholders submit as lead-partners, or participate
as partners
- Creation of innovative programmes of action
- Networking of the Agency and its shareholders with organizations
from other member-states of the E.U.
- Participation of the Agency or its shareholders in transnational,
trans-regional or European networks of cooperation
- Providing information from and about the European Union to the
Agency’s shareholders and to Cyprus in general
- Exchange of experiences and best practices with other organizations
