Gastronomical wanderings and the culture of tastes- MedEat
Press Release of the Transnational Cooperation Project “Gastronomical wanderings and the culture of tastes- MedEat”, Information Day at the European Parliament and Transnational Coordination Meeting, on Wednesday 04/12/2013 and Thursday 5/12/2013.
A two-day event was held in Brussels, including the 9th Transnational Meeting among the partners and the other interested parties involved in the Transnational Cooperation Project “Gastronomical wanderings and the culture of tastes- MedEat”. In the Project, in addition to Larnaca District Development Agency, there are partners from Greece, Italy and Portugal. The project concerns the establishment of demarcated and uniform geographical - cultural units, which will function as informal “parks” of local gastronomy and travel, offering comprehensive proposals for visits in designated places for catering and accommodation and for selected activities and events, having as the central axis the culinary culture of each region.
In the afternoon of the first day there was a conference in the European Parliament on the Transnational Cooperation Project in the participating countries. The participants in the conference, in addition to the project partners, were Members of the European Parliament from Italy and Greece, a representative of ENRD, a representative from the Committee of Regions etc. On the second day the 9th Coordination Meeting of the Partners of the Project was held. During the meeting a final decision was taken regarding the participating in the Expo to be held in Berlin in early March 2014, specifically in the ITB Berlin, the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show. Subsequently, there was a meeting on the Educational Action, during which the suggestions and views of the participating teachers from Greece and Italy were recorded along with the evaluation of the results of the action. The actions were concluded with the awards that were presented to the participating students and teachers, with the exhibition of local products that were brought by the partners and with a food-tasting event.
